Reaching the first level of positive reputation with Serafen will earn you the Cipher's Shackle amulet. Therefore, if you have the disposition indicators enabled, it becomes easier to locate lighthearted and impassioned responses. However, lighthearted responses are usually clever responses, and impassioned responses are usually passionate responses. Reputation topics are not the same as player dispositions (e.g., clever, passionate, aggressive, etc.).

This is mainly to note Final Fantasy 7 and Tales of Symphonia, because in Symphonia's case the affection is really important but isn't about courtship (as whatever romance is there is predetermined, and it mostly pertains to same gender party members in terms of plot relevance), and in 7's case it is a minigame that has one small pay off that is supercede by the primary romance of the title, which cannot be negotiated. * Games with nonromantic affection mechanics, or instanced ones, are excluded. And in both cases there are exceptions worth noting that do more interesting things with mechanics (Lady Grey, for instance, or Serena). I don't want to include Fable or Skyrim, per say, but they're not really functionally different and it would kind of be too arbitrary to exclude them. Games with paltry romance mechanics and end states but existent ones can be included. So something romance heavy like FFIX is excluded as it is non interactive, but something like Pandora's Tower is, because the affection, the courtship, is integral. Games where there are a single option can be valid, so long as there is an affection or route mechanic. Gnosia includes romance but is not a romance game. Black Closet, while very specifically romance focused, is a deduction and liar game. Princess Maker, for instance, is about childrearing first and foremost, and it communicates through a variety of generic styles. Visual novels are edge cases if it is not primarily about dating then it can be considered.
Flip side is erotic-minded games that aren't sex sims, like, Akiba's Strip, can at least be considered, so long as dating isn't the primary function (this is what excludes Leisure Suit Larry, actually)
This does exclude a few noteworthy franchises or titles, like Rance, Brave Soul, and Kamidori Alchemist Meister, for instance, but they are proper eroge dating sims that include dating elements. This might seem hypocritical given the inclusion of, say, The Witcher or Cyberpunk 2077, but the distinction is volume sex per capita in an eroge sort of by definition moves one towards dating sim, or at least sex sim.
